We Are Blueprints of Love

OUR MISSION

Each of our projects has the sole purpose of revitalizing a child's spirit and imagination while providing all the essentials for a healing space of their own. Blueprints of Love works closely with each family to create each child's ultimate dream room together.

Our Team

Jessica Griffin.jpg

JESSICA WHALEY

President and Design Director

Jessica is an interior designer by career with many years’ experience working in both the corporate and residential world. She has worked for the same Boston architecture firm for 8+ years, working on projects of various scales, budgets, and schedules and she brings that experience and understanding to her role with Blueprints. Jessica has led 6 makeovers so far and hopes to continually bring inspiration and happiness to children fighting a difficult battle. She is grateful for the opportunity to align her skillset with a rewarding mission, and nothing is better than the reaction of a joyful child when they open the door to their newly designed space.

NATALIE SAVAS

Treasurer and Project Designer

Natalie’s passion in work and life has always been to bring joy to the people she designs for. Natalie started volunteering with Blueprints of Love and immediately fell in love. Children focused nonprofits are held close to her heart as she enjoys every moment she spends with little ones. Natalie’s volunteering enthusiasm sparked at a young age and continues to be her shining light. Bringing joy to children is the fuel that keeps her energy and creativity running strong. In her spare time, Natalie enjoys hikes, gardening with her bunny, and gathering with friends and family for an evening of laughs.

DANIELA FORTE

Secretary and Project Designer

Daniela is the owner and lead designer of a local interior design business. She has been a part of Blueprints of Love since its inception and has cherished every project she has been a part of. Having had many close family members affected by cancer, she felt Blueprints was the right charity to be a part of both combining her creative passion and her compassion for those who have gone through cancer battles. She is inspired by interior design and its ability in its simplest form to evoke emotions such as comfort, security and relaxation. Seeing the sheer joy and happiness on the children and family members' faces when a project is complete gives her the fuel to push forward and continue to be part of Blueprints.

Our Alumni

Though these individuals are no longer actively involved with our organization,
we celebrate the incredible contributions they made through the years.

MELINDA CABANILLA

Founder

Melinda is an interior designer with over ten years of professional experience. After graduating from the Boston Architectural College with a Masters of Interior Architecture, Cabanilla collaborated with several architecture and interior design firms – giving her a breadth of knowledge to work with clients every step of the way.

In 2009, she founded Mistura Interior Design, Inc which specializes in both high end residential and commercial design throughout Boston and the US.

Melinda started Blueprints of Love after losing her aunt to breast cancer. Her love of children, passion for design and urge to give back landed her with a need to create something unique here in Boston. Though no longer directly involved with Blueprints of Love, she is very passionate about this organization and her volunteers who make the engine run, and she is excited for what the future holds for this organization.
