Do You Live in a Town We Cover?

We are a greater Boston-based organization and we currently serve families within a 45-minute radius drive of Boston. Please refer to our map graphic at left. Due to our small board and current resources, this is where we can make the most impact. If you are looking to apply and live close to our radius but are not sure if covered, please contact us to learn more.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to receive a room makeover?

Dream bedrooms and healing spaces provided by Blueprints of Love, Inc., are created at no cost to the child's family. We rely on the generous contributions of individuals, corporations, foundations and grants to make this possible.

What areas of the country do you serve?

What happens when a child's name is submitted?

All requests are reviewed by the Blueprints of Love Board of Directors to determine the level of need and an appropriate time frame. All applications are subject to interviews with the parents and medical review. The next steps will include a meeting with the family to discuss the child's needs and wishes, take room measurements and before pictures, and start working on inspiration boards with the child.

How long until I know if my child was selected?

We will confirm receipt of every application within 24-48 hours, and we do our best to review and respond to applications in a very time sensitive manner.

Does Blueprints do anything for other children in the family?

Our primary mission is to re-imagine a space for the afflicted child. However, we understand that siblings need some love during this difficult time as well. If budgets and time permit, we will do a little something for siblings at the time of the makeover. Sometimes this means we makeover a family room instead of the child's bedroom, or occasionally we will do more than one bedroom. This scope of work will be pre-defined with the family during the initial consultation.

What ages do you serve?

Our mission is to create loving, healing spaces for children under the age of 18.

Who can submit the child's application?

Initial requests may be submitted by email from family, friends or medical staff that is familiar with the child. Please include information on the child, what hospital they are being treated at, doctor's name and number, and family contact.

What are selections based on?

Rooms are not necessarily provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Decisions are based on the severity of the child’s medical condition and the availability of resources. Blueprints of Love, Inc., also reserves the right to make selections/decisions based on other factors deemed appropriate.

What is the Blueprints of Love, Inc. policy with the families it assists?

Blueprints of Love, Inc., respects the privacy of every child and family we work with. We require all of our staff and volunteers who come in contact with the family to sign a confidentiality agreement pledging not to reveal privileged information learned about the family, and not to contact the family at a later date. We do request that families sign a media release so that we may use photos of the child and project in our marketing efforts.
